10 years ago my husband and I bought our first home and found termites two weeks in. We gutted the house and as a result we had leftover materials of all kinds - which always bothered me. For 8 years I held onto a lot of it with the hopes of repurposing everything for something and last year I finally seized the day. I took my Cricut, found some leftover tiles, cut some vinyl, and made my first tile project..
After making these tiles, I was inspired to try to recycle anything when I would create, The majority of the materials In this studio space were going to be thrown away or were no longer needed. Along with using recycled materials for projects, it was important for me to do the same within the space. The entire front room is recycled steel and wood from an old barn. The main table is an old storm door on top of a dresser that were both found at Habitat ReStore. I thrifted every thrift store to find chairs and other items for the space. I used leftover chalkboard paint, primer, and other paints from home for the walls.
The studio space will continue to evolve and change, but sustainability is something I will always incorporate in to every aspect of my business model. I invite you to participate by bringing in recycled materials for projects!
My first tile projects were from my own leftover projects. Now I find ways to recycle other's materials.
Cardboard has become a quick favorite to laser and there is an abundance to recycle!
Another material commonly left over from house projects ready to be repurposed! .
We have worked with canvas, metal, glass, plastic, and more! We are open to trying any and every material. We love hearing new ideas!
